Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

I normally get large shirts, but I followed the sizing chart and ordered a medium. It still proved very roomy, with the sleeves flopping around my wrists. Just alittle more drag, otherwise fine.

I wear a 3xl or 4xl rash guard from old navy so I thought this 3xl in a "relax" fit would work but while the sleeves were perfect the body was too tight. not made for chubby guys.

I don't like it. When wet it's very heavy and swimming with it is very difficult. Also the neck and upper back remain exposed resulting in a sun burn.
